      TO: Ms. AMY B. DEADMAN

            PRESIDENT

            SAGUNTO (UK) ASSOCIATION

RE: SOLICITATION FOR THE CULTURAL, THANKSGIVING & RIZAL

            DAY CELEBRATION

      Dear Amy,

Our warmest greetings from the Sagunto Tribal Women’s Association!

I believe it would be better if we personalize our solicitation letter to all of you so I am now keeping in touch with you ladies.

We are a newly organized group of Tribal Women in our community and as our goals and objectives are in tandem for the welfare of our barangay, Sagunto that is, may we invite to a dialogue through e-mail and other forms of communication available.

As such, in pursuit of our effort to respond to the cause of NCIP whose mandate is to protect and promote the interest and well-being of the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), we are currently facilitating plans, project proposals and programs for the economic, social and cultural development of the Bago Tribe and other Ethnic Tribes in our community. (Thus, we have been chosen to organize the Rizal Day & Thanksgiving Celebrations well as the Cultural Nights of the Balikbayans & Senior Citizens).

These programs and proposals aim to accomplish the following objectives:

      1. To promote livelihood and income generating projects designed to enhance economic empowerment of the residents of the community.

      2. To help the community in generating business opportunities thus creating employment.

      3. To empower the residents by equipping them with knowledge and skills to earn a living through continuing education activities such as training seminars and workshops.

      4. To motivate the residents to set up their owned enterprise thus, generating additional income while employed or as an alternative income while unemployed.

      5. To motivate the residents through the initiative of the Tribal Women as well as the Senior Citizens’ Ladies to be responsible for the Solid Waste Segregation & Management of the waig and payas.

      6. To propagate the greening of environment, especially the backyard gardening as other source of income as well as livelihood sustainability.

Consequently, this will intensify the total awareness of every resident of our cultural heritage and values in the attainment of cultural maturity; that each may promote group interest and welfare and overcome individualism, selfishness and elitism.

For socio-economic empowerment, self-reliance and progress for our beloved barangay, may we be able to work hand in hand and foster closer relationship and understanding in the fulfillment of our hopes and dreams as this is, after all, is everybody’s aspirations.

Hence, attached herewith are the Solicitation Letters written both in English & Ilokano.

May we be able to convince you of our transparency and sincerity of purpose and we look forward to hear from you.

More power to you and your loved ones and LONG LIVE THE SAGUNTONIANS!

      Best regards,

      LEONIDA R. DOCTOLERO

            SECRETARY

      MRS. ESTELA Q. SANTILLANO

            PRESIDENT
